I’m very glad to share my experience in learning English with you. And I’m honored to study in Hampson. Here is my experience. I hope they can be useful for you guys.

First, be confident. This is very important, because if you are very shy and nervous, you can’t show yourself to your teacher. You can just think you are talking with your friend in English. If you are wrong, don’t be shy. Your teacher will help you find the correct answer. However, if you say nothing when you are having class, the class will be boring, and then both of you and your teacher will feel uncomfortable. So, confidence is the most important, and comes first.

Second, listen to the teacher carefully, and do your homework. If you can listen to your teacher carefully, you will have “seven”; and if you do your homework hard, you will have “three”. If you do both, as a result, you will have “ten”, and that is the best. By the way, don’t be afraid of the text, it just helps you to find your problems, and your foreign teacher and the teacher in Hampson will tell you how to improve your way to study English and promote your English ability.

Third, remember more. My English teacher, Raymond, he often says, “if you can remember a lot in one hundred minutes, that’s good. But if you learn the whole day, and you don’t pay attention to what you are learning, you will get nothing.” Remembering something is very important. There are thousand words in English, you must remember more, and then you can use more.

Last, use your knowledge. For example, it doesn’t make any sense that if you know one thousand words, but you can only use one hundred. But, if you only know one hundred words, you can use all of them, which is far better than the former one. How can our English teacher speak English beautifully? I think one point is to know more, and the other one is to use the language skillfully.
